When I started listening to 'Ujjna Gahi Dahare' radio program in my own language in 'Kurukh' through the servant of God in my neighborhood, since then there has been a change in my life. After listing to the word of God and through prayer, I have been relieved from my personal problems. Now I also believe in the Living God. Kindly continue to uphold me and my family in your prayers. -  Tirkey I am a new listener and it is my first letter to you. Zimbabwe Radio Program from The Tide® Ministry Reaching More Through Technology

T he Tide ®   global radio ministry has been providing radio programs to remote villages around the globe to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ for more than 70 years. But  The Tide  ministry’s work goes so much deeper by also building radio studios, providing leader-to-leader training and ensuring that villagers have Bibles. Currently,  The Tide  ministry works to reach people in seven countries on three continents in 24 heart languages, including in Zimbabwe, the home to the only program from  The Tide  ministry that airs five days a week. “Our team in Zimbabwe has produced 16 Sunday church service radio broadcasts so far this year, and the popular program there, titled ‘Amagugu Evangli,’ attracts a large audience, as many crave hearing the word of God in their own language,” said The Tide Director Don Shenk, who was born in what was once   Rhodesia, and served as a missionary teaching and leading the Ekuphileni Bible Institute ...

Christianity in Nepal is Thriving Inspire of Increased Persecution

To give context of our update, the following is a summary of a story originally published on  Christianity Today : In April 2015, a 7.8 magnitude  earthquake  struck Nepal, after which eight Christians from Nepal were invited by a pastor to do trauma counseling for children at their school. Shortly after, these Christians were wrongly convicted of trying to convert the children. (There is freedom of religion in Nepal, however one is not allowed to try to convert anyone.) The Christians were detained, but were released on bail shortly after; and in December 2016, a Nepali court dropped the case against the Christians. This incident was the first freedom of religion dispute since Nepal’s new constitution that deemed the country secular. However, according to Lok Mani Dhaka, a member of the Nepali Parliament, “When the time came to pass the drafts constitution in parliament, major parties built a consensus that secularism means the state should protect the traditional maj...

Image
This week we want to encourage you to pray for the indigenous pastors and leaders in India , Nepal , Nigeria , Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe . They are in need of education, resources, encouragement, and support as they take on the important task of reaching out to their own nationalities and share the important message of God’s love to their own people. The Tide works hand in hand with indigenous church groups, church planters, and evangelists to plant and nurture new congregations. One issue we are facing today is a need to provide indigenous pastors and spiritual leaders with the education and resources needed to reach their communities with the Gospel of Christ. Did you know? • There are 196 countries in the world. 86 of those countries prohibit or restrict western missionaries. • There are appx 285,000 indigenous missionaries serving in the world, making up 2/3 of the world’s missionary force. • 99% of people in the US, Canada, and UK can read at write by the age ...
