Listeners of Devotionals and Programs Reach Across Borders to Share Gospel with Others

Those searching for the truth of the Gospel in Thailand have a new way to be uplifted, thanks to our daily devotionals. Recently, The Tide ministry began sharing the “Yang Kap Prajao,” or “Walking with God,” daily devotionals online and via social media in Thailand. Recorded in the Isaan language, the 7- to 10-minute daily devotionals are available on the social media app called “Line,” which is Japan’s largest social network that has spread into neighboring countries. Director Don Shenk said the growth of the devotionals has been exciting because users and listeners are sharing the resources with many others. “One of our new subscribers to the Line app thanked us for the daily devotional,” Shenk said. “She is a Lao believer in Korea who is reaching out to Isaan workers in a Thai factory there, which is possible because Lao and Isaan are very similar linguistically. She added that she has had the opportunity to share the Gospel with up to 36 people at a time!” Shenk added that this

Our Response to COVID-19

With confirmed cases of Covid-19 now recorded in almost every country of the world, we are all to some degree getting swept up in the global focus on this single issue. I can’t recall anything else in my lifetime that has created such widespread uncertainty and apprehension in society, and I am extremely grateful for the hope we have in the person and work of Jesus.  God’s Word is filled with encouraging promises of His incredible love, affirmations of hope, admonitions to stand firm in our faith, and reminders that because our Almighty heavenly Father is watching over us, we do not need to live in fear.  We are grateful that as a religious organization The Tide office is currently exempt from the mandated closures, enabling us to continue the administrative tasks associated with sharing this message of hope in Christ with those who are suffering around the globe. I also want to reassure you that our ministry “boots on the ground” are committed to persevere in the face of challenges. H

Daily Devotionals find New Home on Social Media in Thailand

Everyone needs a daily dose of hope and truth from above—no matter which language they speak. Recorded in the Isaan language, the 7- to 10-minute daily devotional is available on the social media app called “Line,” which is Japan’s largest social network that has spread into neighboring countries. “One exciting development is that The Tide partners in Thailand are working with the New Zealand Baptists on the project to both share the cost of the Line app, as well as reach more followers,” said Don Shenk. “The following for the ‘Yang Kap Prajao,’ or ‘Walking with God,’ devotionals is growing. In fact, a local pastor in the Roiet province, as well as another in Ubon Ratchathani province, send it daily to the believers in their churches.” Because the technology of the app allows listeners and subscribers to hear the content from anywhere, those outside Thail

What Can A Dollar Do?

The Tide® (http://bit.ly/2DXqDQP) gospel radio ministry, which reaches radio listeners in all corners of the globe with the Good News of Jesus, is planning a trip of its own to the nation’s capital. This fall, The Tide ministry is hosting a bus trip to the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., where participants will learn the origins of the Bible so they can more ably share the gospel here at home. “For The Tide ministry, creatively sharing the gospel on continents around the world is our mission,” said The Tide Director Don Shenk. “But intimately knowing God’s Word and sharing Jesus’ saving grace and eternal hope in our own backyards is the duty of all Christians. We pray this trip to the Museum of the Bible will open our eyes to the wonders of God’s Word, enable us to bring the Savior to life for others and to never lose sight of the fact that people everywhere need Jesus.” On Oct. 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., travelers will engage in a self-guided walking tour of the Museu
