From Jo-burg to Choma





Sorry it has been so long since I last posted but we didn't have Internet.  Praise God we are back on line.  We had our seminar on Saturday at the Hillbrow BIC Church in Johonnesburg, South Africa.  We had 70 leaders who came together for the seminar.  It was great to connect with these men and women of God who have a deep desire to grow in their own spiritual lives and become more effective Kingdom builders.  They really engaged with one another during the discussion times, and it was obvious they appreciated and identified with the material we were presenting.  While we were in Johannesburg each couple in our team was hosted by different families from the local Johannesburg congregations.  As a token of appreciation the whole team took all the host families out for dinner on Saturday night.  We were glad to find a restaurant - the Copprer Canyon Spur - that was able to accommodate our group of 32.  The next morning we said our farewells and then headed off to the airport for our flight to Zambia.  We landed safely in Livingstone, Zambia where a vehicle was waiting to drive us north to Choma.  At this point we lost contact with home as the data package we had purchased in South Africa was not compatible with the cellular service in Zambia even though we had been assured that it would be.  It has taken us a couple of days to get our data capability updated, but we are grateful to finally be back online.  On Monday morning we started our seminar with the Zambian church leaders.  There are over 110 in attendance here, and again there is a wonderful spirit of cooperation and a hunger to become more effective servants in God's kingdom. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we finish up the seminar and begin the Zambian General conference this evening.  Thank you to all who have been praying!

The Tide Reaches Listeners in Albania Who Aren’t Afraid to Share the Gospel

The Tide   has heard touching stories of what it’s like for Christians to live in a Muslim-majority country. After listening to The Tide Gospel radio programming, one listener in Albania shared her powerful testimony. Director Don Shenk reports that Ida, a university professor, recently told the ministry that she regularly listens to a Tide radio program and talks about Christianity with her students. “I listen to Radio 7 all the time, and the broadcast has literally changed my life,” Ida shared. “I’m a university professor, and I believe God has placed me in the midst of students to make a difference for God’s Kingdom.
